In just a few weeks Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle will be getting married at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, and after months of speculation Prince Harry's best man has finally been confirmed.

The news was announced on Twitter by Kensington Palace who said, 'Prince Harry has asked his brother The Duke of Cambridge to be his Best Man at his wedding to Ms. Meghan Markle.'

The Palace followed up the announcement by saying, 'Prince Harry served as best man to The Duke of Cambridge at his wedding to Miss Catherine Middleton in 2011.'

Another tweet was then posted with a photo of the two brothers when they were children. The tweet said the Duke of Cambridge was 'honoured to have been asked'.

This comes after many have been speculating as to who could take up the important role. Although many thought it would be the Duke of Cambridge, back in January, when the Duke was asked if he would be Best Man he awkwardly replied, "He hasn't asked me yet - it could be a sensitive issue."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is on the 19th May and rather awkwardly falls on the same day as the FA Cup final. Whilst the timings of the wedding ceremony were released earlier this year - and they won't clash directly with the FA Cup final - it is highly likely that the Duke of Cambridge, who is also president of the FA, will have his hands full at the Royal wedding!

The Duke will definitely have his hands full, as earlier this week the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child, a little boy. The couple have yet to announce the name of the younger brother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Last November the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was announced by Clarence House on Twitter with a statement which read, 'The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.'

Following the announcement the couple appeared for a photoshoot showing off the beautiful engagement ring that Prince Harry designed himself.

Since the engagement announcement last November, further details about the big day have revealed, including the timings, guests, cake, and earlier this week Kensington Palace revealed who would be performing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding.wedding

As well as a choir and orchestra, one of the chosen musicians was Sheku Kanneh-Mason. Sheku is a highly acclaimed cellist who was the winner of BBC's Young Musician in 2016 and also reached the live semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2015 with his siblings.
