Last year we reported on how the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was planned for the same date as the FA Cup Final, an awkward situation for Prince Harry's brother the Duke of Cambridge who also happens to be the President of the FA!

Earlier this year the subject came up again when former footballer Rio Ferdinand asked Prince William about the clash and he said, they were "still working" on the clash. Finally it looks like there is a solution.

Kensington Palace have now released further details of the royal wedding and luckily, despite the two events still happening on the same day, they will be a few hours apart, so a clash will almost certainly be averted.

Last year the venue and date were confirmed as Saturday 19th May 2018 at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, however it has taken until now for the time of the ceremony to be revealed.

Announcing the news earlier today, Kensington Palace tweeted, 'The wedding service will begin at 12noon at St George's Chapel. The Dean of Windsor will conduct the service and The Archbishop of Canterbury will officiate as the couple make their vows.'

They followed this up by saying, 'At 1pm the couple, now married, will undertake a Carriage Procession from St George's Chapel through Windsor Town returning to Windsor Castle along the Long Walk.'

Going on to reveal that after the service there would be a reception for the guests, with a private reception later in the evening with close friends and family.

With previous FA Cup Finals kicking off at 5.30pm, although it hasn't been confirmed, it looks almost certain that we won't have a clash, however it still looks unlikely that Prince William will attend the match to present the trophy.

In other royal wedding news last month Prince William revealed the he hadn't been asked to be Prince Harry's best man saying, "He hasn't asked me yet - it could be a sensitive issue!", you can read more about it here.
