Pop star Ed Sheeran has reportedly been asked to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding due to take place in May this year.

According to Us Weekly a source told the publication, “Prince Harry has personally requested Ed perform at his wedding."

Since the announcement of the royal wedding back in November last year, there has been much speculation as to who could be asked to perform on the special day, with Ed Sheeran often being suggested.

In December 2017 Ed was even asked by reporters as he attended a ceremony to accept his MBE, if he would perform at the royal wedding, to which he replied, "Why not?".

Ed has yet to comment on this latest development, but if he has indeed been asked to play at the wedding it will be a very busy day for the pop star. He is already scheduled to perform at Dublin's Phoenix Park on the 19th May, his last night of three at the venue.

Although not confirmed, it also looks like Elton John will be attending the royal wedding, as he recently posted on Twitter that he would be cancelling two of his shows in Las Vegas - which just happen to coincide with the special day.

Earlier this week Kensington Palace revealed further details on the timings for the wedding ceremony and reception. Taking to Twitter the Palace announced that the wedding service would take place at 12 noon, with a Carriage of Procession from St George's Chapel through Windsor Town.

Later there would be a reception for guests from the congregation, followed by a private evening reception for the couple with their close friends and family.

During a recent visit to Edinburgh, Meghan reportedly revealed that her hen do was "all sorted" and that it would definitely be something “fun”.

Prince Harry also admitted to a member of the crowd that he didn’t know what was in store for his stag do, but added, “I’m sure William’s got something up his sleeve.”

Sounds like the plans are coming together!
