Miley Cyrus teams up with Dolly Parton to release new version of 'Wrecking Ball'

Miley Cyrus has teamed up with her godmother, and country music iconic Dolly Parton, on a new version of her hit song 'Wrecking Ball'.
Dolly Parton is set to release a new album called 'Rockstar' very soon, and has surprised fans by releasing the new version of 'Wrecking Ball' with Miley. 'Wrecking Ball' was originally released by Miley back in 2013, and was a huge hit going to Number 1 in the UK, and being certified 2× Platinum.
Taking to her socials, Miley shared the new release writing: 'I've grown up covering my Aunt Dollys music & it’s an honor to hear her singing one of my songs.
'I love you Aunt Dolly! I’m so happy to add another collaboration under our bedazzled (studded leather) belt! We’re ROCKSTARS now! You can hear so much sweetness and love on this record. Excited to share it with everyone. Forever your Doll Baby, Miley'. (sic)
Dolly, then replied in a comment saying: 'We always say such sweet things about one another, but you are especially good to me, Miley! I know sometimes it sounds gushy to people like it is false and not real but it truly is real. I just love what you said about our ‘Wrecking Ball’ duet and I feel the same! I always feel so honored to be able to sing with you and get to be around you. You are the most gifted person I know, truly. I want to say again how proud I am of the record but more than anything how proud I am of you and our relationship.
'Dolly P.S. We hope you all love the record!' (sic)
Dolly also shared a video on Instagram telling her fans: "I remember the first time I heard 'Wrecking Ball', it hit me the same way it did, the first time I heard 'I Will Always Love You', by Whitney Houston. I was driving, heard that one and I almost wrecked, and when I heard 'Wrecking Ball', I almost wrecked again!
"I thought, when it started into that chorus - 'When you hit my like a wrecking ball', I thought, well how great can a song be?"
Fans are absolutely loving the new song, with one fan writing: 'This version is incredible!!!!! Love you two together so much! 🖤', and another commenting: 'Aunt Dolly is so proud of her goddaughter ❤️❤️❤️ I'm OBSESSED with new version of Wrecking Ball! Miley's vocals are insane and even more powerful than 10 yeats ago. 🔥🔥🔥 ICONIC!!'.
This new version of the song has a more rocky feel, in keeping with the name of the album 'Rockstar', which also features a string of well-known musicians, including Paul McCartney, Elton John, Pat Benatar and Sting.
Dolly Parton's first ever rock album 'Rockstar' will be released on Friday 17th November 2023.
