Have a few gaps on your Christmas tree that need to be filled? Rather than going to the shops why not make something more personal and homemade this year.

Emma B has been making these fabulous button baubles and has shared her DIY tips with us.

They're incredibly easy to make and all you'll need is...

  • A styrofoam bauble (can be purchased from your local craft shop)
  • An assortment of buttons - can be as random as you like!
  • Some strong glue - a glue gun preferable but not essential.

Step One

To make your bauble able to hang from the tree, thread some string or wire through the hole of a large button and then glue directly centre at the top.

Step Two

Beginning with larger buttons, start to fill up the bauble making sure to use enough glue so they stick. Don't worry if there are any gaps - we'll sort that out in the next step!

Cover your blank bauble with beautiful buttons!

Step Three

Using smaller buttons, fill in the gaps between the bigger buttons to ensure that your entire bauble is covered.

And....voila! All that's left to do is hang it from the tree.

A homemade bauble you can treasure forever
