Madonna shares health and tour update after Intensive Care stay
She's sent a message to fans
Less than two weeks after news broke that Pop icon Madonna had been hospitalised with a serious bacterial infection which left her in an Intensive Care Unit, the 64-year-old has now given fans an update.
Taking to her Instagram page to update fans on her health and her upcoming 'The Celebration World Tour', which her management were forced to postpone, Madge said: 'Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love. I'm on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.
'My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children.
'My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour.
'I also didn't want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.
'My focus is now my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I'll be back with you as soon as I can!
'I couldn't be more grateful for your love and support'. (sic)
The 'Holiday' singer was due to begin her hugely-antipcated tour in Vancouver on 15th July, before travelling to North America and then the UK in October and December. Madonna was scheduled to perform four dates at London's O2 Arena in October 2023, before returning due to popular demand for another two in December 2023.
As she said in her statement on Monday 10th July, Madonna's plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour, with the singer due to perform in Europe in October.
No dates have been announced just yet.

Madonna announced 'The Celebration Tour' on 17th January. The singer will be performing hits from the last 40 years, and the show will pay respect to New York City, where her career in music began.
On Thursday 29th June, Madonna's manager Guy Oseary released a statement to reveal news of her recent health scare.
He said: "On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU.
"Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
"At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
"We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."
It's understood news about Madonna's rescheduled tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
