With the Royal Wedding just days away, more and more details have been revealed about the special day, and now details of the food that will be served on the special day have been revealed. According to royal.uk the Head Chef Mark Flanagan will be preparing food for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Mark revealed to the website that the menu for the 600 guests attending the reception, will include some of the freshest food around, with a lot of the ingredients coming from across counties like Kent, which is known as the 'garden' of England, and Norfolk. The Head Chef has also revealed that the couple have been "very involved in every detail of it," and have held a "number of tastings", sampling the dishes cooked by Mark and his team.

Although Mark didn't reveal exactly what the couple had chosen, he did say, "Luckily the seasons have just fallen perfectly and that's become the main focus in the decision making of the menus."

Pastry Chef Selwyn Stoby has also revealed how he prepares chocolate truffles which are a favourite dessert served at receptions throughout the year at Windsor Castle. As well as hand-making the truffles by filling the chocolate shell with a special chocolate sauce, Chef Stoby and his team will be making bite-sized Crème brûlée, biscuits with mango panna cotta topping and yellow macaroons, for guests in St. George's Hall, for the Windsor Horse show. Sounds delicious!

Speaking about the recipes Chef Stoby said, "It's a kind of science. You have to know a bit about chemistry but it's also very creative, with a lot of attention to detail.

"You approach every Royal event with the same care and attention to detail, but you don’t get many opportunities to do a Royal Wedding in your lifetime, so this is very special."

Head Chef Mark also said, "All the staff are delighted to be involved on the day. We've even had old staff contacting us if we need some extra support."

Earlier this year details of the couple's wedding cake were also revealed. The couple are moving away from the traditional wedding fruitcake, instead having a lemon elderflower cake, which will be made by Claire Ptak. A tweet from Kensington Palace explained that Claire Ptak 'Was raised in California,' and 'focuses on using seasonal and organic ingredients in her cakes'. According to Kensington Palace Meghan has previously interviewed Claire for her 'Former lifestyle website The Tig'.

The pastry chef has a Instagram account which is followed by celebrities including Jamie Oliver and Florence Welch. The account shows off some of her creations including a 'Mocha gluten free birthday cake' given to Jools Oliver (Jamie Oliver's wife), and a 'Date dream cake. Refined sugar free, gluten free, vegan'.

Clarence House announced the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back in November 2017 and shortly afterwards they appeared for an engagement photoshoot, you can see all the photos below.
