The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a baby boy into the world at 11.01am this morning, and now the happy couple have introduced the little Prince to the world.

Stepping out onto the steps of the famous Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, The Duchess looked stunning as she held her 8lbs 7oz newborn in her arms alongside Prince William.

Royal well wishers wait outside of the Lindo Wing to get a glimpse of the new Prince.

The news of the new Royal baby was announced earlier today via a statement on the official Kensington Palace Twitter account.

The statement read, 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well'. sic

It then added, 'The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.' sic

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are yet to reveal the name of their newborn son, but Arthur and Philip are now firm favourites with bookmakers.

The couple will now head home to Kensington Palace with their other children, four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte.
