It's not going anywhere yet!

The X Factor has become something of a Marmite TV show - you either love it and follow it religiously, or you hate it and never watch it. Although The X Factor was hugely popular when it began in 2004, waning viewing figures have been hitting the show pretty hard.

However, with the newest reinvention of the show featuring a judging panel made up of head honcho Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams, his wife Ayda Field and One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, it seems as though it's just what the show needed as it's been renewed for another TWO years.

According to the Mirror, Simon revealed that ITV have offered the show a brand new contract for two years, thanks to their increasing 16-34 aged audience, which will take them through to 2020.

He apparently said that the show could go on for another three or five years as it "makes a lot of money," even saying that they'd been able to "compete" with Strictly Come Dancing thanks to their "huge audience."

Although he did admit the show was "losing people," he said that the younger audience has "fortunately grown this year," adding that advertisers and sponsors were happy about that.

This comes after the show faced fix allegations from viewers last week after fan-favourite group Misunderstood were booted off, as well as having to deal with technical issues which caused uproar after the audience complained that they'd had to essentially watch the same episode twice.

It's also recently been revealed that less than two weeks ago, the show brought in 3.7 million viewers - which is the lowest since the show first started in 2004.
