It's been a while since Louis Tomlinson released any new solo music, so you can imagine the excitement amongst fans when they noticed some new movement on the One Direction singer's social media accounts, leading them to believe a VERY special collab could be about to happen.

Louis, who is currently enjoying his new role as a judge on the 2018 series of The X Factor, followed music legend Nile Rodgers on Instagram, and eagle-eyed fans think they are onto something.

Of course, you are probably thinking just because Louis has hit the follow button doesn't mean he's about to work with Nile. However, the 1D singer only follows a TINY 194 people, despite having nearly 14 million followers himself.

Fans were also quick to spot Louis liking a photo of Nile on Lunchmoney Lewis' account, leading fans to express their thoughts on Twitter...

Louis is no stranger to collaborations, just like his One Direction band mates Liam Payne and Zayn Malik. The 26-year-old has worked with DJ Steve Aoki on his debut solo single 'Just Hold On', and American singer Bebe Rexha on his latest track 'Back To You'.

Meanwhile, whilst fans patiently wait for Louis' debut album, the singer is doing a grand job as a judge on The X Factor.

Viewers of the show were left in tears during Sunday night's episode after Louis comforted Dalton Andre Harris, following his emotional performance of Elton John's hit 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word'.

He gave a stunning rendition of the song, before breaking down in tears at the very end, saying, "I’ve been on my own since I was 15, but I’ve accepted it. It’s not a sad story it’s just been a lot, it’s been a long time."

Louis and his fellow judge Ayda Williams were so moved that they could no longer stay seated, and rushed up to the stage to comfort Dalton.

As the audition stages of the are coming to an end, One Direction fans are still hoping to see Niall Horan join his best friend for the Judges' Houses stage of the competition. After hinting he was about to help Louis on the show, fans have been excited ever since.

Although nothing has been confirmed by ITV, reports are suggesting that Louis will look after the Boys category, Simon Cowell will have the Girls, Ayda Williams will look after the Overs, leaving former Take That singer Robbie Williams with the Groups.
