Not surprisingly, Adele's latest single Hello has topped the UK Top 40 Singles Chart after its first week of release. But not only has Hello hit Number One, the single is the biggest UK Number One since 2012.

Since its release on Friday 23 October, Hello has racked up 330,000 single sales. That's the largest amount of sales since X Factor winner James Arthur released his debut single Impossible, which sold 490,000 copies in its opening week.

Despite her album 21 being the biggest-selling album of the 21st century (it's sold over 30 million copies worldwide), Hello is only Adele's second Number One single (after Someone Like You back in 2011).

Excluding X Factor and Pop Idol winners, charity records and Christmas Number Ones, Hello is the second biggest Number One of the millennium. The biggest-selling is still It Wasn't Me by Shaggy back in 2001.
