We would usually be looking forward to a brand new series of Line of Duty around about now, but after production for series six was halted due to the Coronavirus pandemic, filming only just resumed earlier this month, meaning fans most likely have a long wait until it hits the BBC.

However, it's not all bad news! As cast members like Martin Compston (DS Steve Arnott), Vicky McClure (DI Kate Fleming), and Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings) continue to share behind-the-scenes snaps during filming, the show's creator, Jed Mecurio, has shared a set of snaps from a dramatic looking stunt.

Paying tribute to the show's amazing stunt team, Jed wrote, '#LineofDuty6 Huge respect to our stunts team led by Donal O’Farrell featuring ace stunt drivers Steph Carey and Dave Anders. It’s easy for me to write “van rolls” - they make it happen. Steph doubled for Keeley Hawes in S2 and hardcore LoD fans will recognise Dave from S4 ...' (sic)

Fans were quick to comment on the dramatic looking scene, which was filmed in Belfast with the majority of the show.

One fan wrote, 'this looks so good already!', with another adding, 'Stop it Jed! I can't take any more excitement'.

A third then wrote, 'Wow!!! Looks so good!' (sic)

Line of Duty's popular cast members confirmed filming had resumed for series six at the beginning of September, with both Martin and Vicky sharing photos on set.

The show's leading male star Martin Compston, who plays DS Steve Arnott, posted an Instagram picture of himself filming his scenes, captioning the upload 'Officially back in business.'

DI Kate Fleming actress Vicky McClure also took to social media to mark the show's production return, posting a photo of herself and Martin, writing, 'Hello mate.'

Although there's no official word just yet about when series six will air, Jed Mecurio recently said, "We know Line of Duty fans are desperate for series 6 and we hope we can get it on air as soon as possible. Thanks so much for your patience in these difficult times."

Let's hope we don't have too long to wait! 🤞
