Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson has confirmed that he is engaged to pop star Ariana Grande. The comedian appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently to confirm the exciting news saying, "Being engaged to Ariana Grande is lit".

Pete also said he found it weird that people were interested in their engagement, but he's noticed people bowing and tipping their cap. He also revealed that one person had even told him, "You give me hope"! Watch the full interview below.

This is the first time that either Pete or Ariana have addressed their engagement, after rumours started to circulate last week. Fans first thought they had spotted Ariana wearing a large pear-shaped diamond ring on her ring finger and took to social media to post the 'evidence'.

Although neither Pete or Ariana had said anything, at the time a source told US magazine, "They are a perfect fit. They are not rushing to get married. Their friends are really excited and supportive."

Ariana also took to Twitter to post a crytic tweet, which many fans though was about Pete. The tweet read, 'i love u sm hi & thank u i love u bye' sic

Pete and Ariana first started dating a few weeks ago and just a week after going Instagram official Pete revealed he had two tattoos to honour his pop star girlfriend. Pete's tattoo artist London Reese shared a photo on Instagram of Pete's new tattoo, a black bunny ear mask behind his ear, which is Ariana's famous logo. The Saturday Night Live star later shared a photo of his other Ariana tribute, which shows the singer's initials on his thumb.

Days after the rumours of their engagement started to circulate Ariana then posted a photo on her Instagram Story revealing that the pair had moved in together. The 'No Tears Left To Cry' singer posted an image of cartoon character Spongebob Square Pants sitting in a room with no furniture. Above the recognisable yellow character were the words, 'Us in our new apartment with no furniture 1 speaker and red vines.’

Ariana explained to Jimmy the reasoning behind the name of her album saying, "It's kind of about bringing light to a situation, or to someone's life, or someone else who brings light to your life."

Now, just this week Ariana has give fans a first look at the artwork for 'Sweetener' and revealed that one of the tracks is called 'Pete'.
