Justin Bieber confirms engagement to Hailey Baldwin with lengthy explanation

After news broke over the weekend that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were reportedly engaged, fans all over the world went wild for the potential union. Hailey's father, Stephen Baldwin, posted a now-deleted tweet which seemed to suggest that it had happened, and fans on holiday in Barbados reported that they'd seen the proposal.
Justin's father, Jeremy Bieber, also alluded to some big news with an emotional post on Instagram about his son.
Despite neither Hailey or Justin addressing the rumours for the first few days, they've now both CONFIRMED the engagement using Instagram.
Justin, who was first linked to Hailey back in 2011, posted two beautiful photos of the two of them together, writing a lengthy caption to explain his thoughts behind popping the question.

Hailey also appeared to confirm the engagement, posting a selfie in the mirror and showing off a VERY big rock on her ring finger - but has since deleted it.
However, she did post a heartfelt tweet, leading many to believe that was her way of confirming the happy news. She wrote, 'Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with! No words could ever express my gratitude. ❤️'
This comes after Justin's friend Ariana Grande hit back at critics of Justin's seemingly quick engagement on Twitter, after she herself faced backlash for becoming engaged to her boyfriend Pete Davidson after a few weeks of dating.

After being introduced by Hailey's dad Stephen after they appeared on The Today Show in 2009, the couple have had a long and tumultuous road to romance - but fans of the couple will be thrilled that they're now officially together.
