Following an incident on Sunday afternoon, when Ant McPartlin was being held under suspicion of drink driving, it has now emerged that the TV presenter, will be stepping down from his presenting duties and returning to rehab.

Representatives have confirmed that Ant has spoken to his presenting partner Declan Donnelly and ITV (who show Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway), and made the decision to go back into treatment. The statement read, "Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments. He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future."

ITV have confirmed that Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway will not air this Saturday (24th March). A statement from the TV company read, "ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec’s team not to broadcast Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.

"We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment. We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs."
