Award-winning actor and comedian announced to host BRITs 2018

In the past couple of weeks we've had the new BRIT award design revealed and the Critics' Choice winner, now finally the host for next year's awards ceremony has been revealed.

British actor, comedian and writer Jack Whitehall will host next year’s show, which will take place in February at the O2 Arena in London. Injecting his unique humour into the UK's biggest music event, this is the first time Jack has hosted the event. No stranger to the venue, Jack last appeared at the O2 Arena for three sold-out stand-up shows.

Speaking about this announcement Jack said, "I’m thrilled to be hosting the BRITs, it is the kind of show you dream of hosting as a kid, so really excited to have been asked."

Jack is a well-known comedian and has been crowned ‘King of Comedy’ by the British Comedy Awards three years in a row. And while this is the first time he has hosted the BRITs, he has hosted the Royal Variety Performance several times, as well as BAFTA’s biggest event in Los Angeles, The Britannia Awards.

Jack joins the growing number of celebrities who have previously hosted the BRIT Awards including James Corden, Ant & Dec, and the 2017 Awards hosts Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis.

In other BRITs news we have already had the first winner of next year's awards announced as Jorja Smith. This comes at the end of an amazing year for Jorja, who earlier in the year teamed up with Drake on ‘Get It Together’ and featured on his ‘More Life’ project. She has also caught the attention of UK music critics with her debut single 'Blue Lights'.

We have also seen the new BRIT Award unveiled for 2018, designed by a highly acclaimed British/Indian artist Sir Anish Kapoor. Sir Anish is the first sculptor to be chosen as an award designer for the BRITs, following on from this year's designer, the renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid, who designed the award before she sadly passed away in March last year.

The BRIT Awards 2018 will be the 38th BRIT Awards and will be broadcast live on ITV.
