Steve Rotheram re-elected as Liverpool City Region Mayor

Steve Rotheram has been re-elected as the Mayor of the Liverpool City Region.

It secures a third term in charge for the Labour politician, who was first elected in 2017.

He beat Independent candidate Ian Smith, Green Party candidate Tom Crone, Liberal Democrat candidate Rob McAllister-Bell and Conservative candidate Jade Marsden.

The election turnout was 23.7%, down from 29.5% in 2021.

Steve won 68% of the vote.
