Celebrity Gogglebox 2023: Which celebs appeared on series 5?

With the original series of Gogglebox being one of the most popular shows on the box, we were over the moon when spin-off show Celebrity Gogglebox graced our screens, with series five landing in June 2023.

When was Celebrity Gogglebox on TV?

Following the Stand Up To Cancer special in October, Celebrity Gogglebox returned to our screens on Friday 16th June, airing every Friday night until Friday 21st July.

Episodes in series five aired at 9pm.

Which celebs took part in Celebrity Gogglebox in 2023?

A whole host of new faces signed up for series five of Celebrity Gogglebox, including singer Tom Grennan, who was joined by his dad.

Tom told metro.co.uk: "So excited for Gogglebox, especially filming with my dad. I’ve said to him be ready to become a national treasure."

TV presenter Davina McCall also appeared this time around, alongside her boyfriend Michael Douglas, who is a popular celebrity hairdresser.

Fresh from presenting the British Soap Awards at the start of June, Jane McDonald appeared on series five alongside her best friend Sue. She wrote on Instagram: 'I'm going to be appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with my best friend Sue - it's going to be an absolute blast! We’ve shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show. @c4gogglebox'. (sic)

Liv and Nick Grimshaw, Bez and Shaun Ryder, Olly Levy and Paul Sinha, Clare Balding and Alice Arnold, Martin and Roman Kemp, Tubsey, Big Zuu and Hyder, and Rob Beckett and Tom Allen will also returned for series five.

As well as Gyles Brandreth and Dame Joanna Lumley, Miquita and Andi Oliver, Denise van Outen and Duncan James, Paul and Mel C, Fearne Cotton and Gok Wan, Lucy Beaumont and Jon Richardson.

What is Celebrity Gogglebox?

Celebrity Gogglebox was first created as a charity special for Stand Up To Cancer, but after the show's success, Channel 4 decided to turn the concept into a real series, with the first series hitting our screens in 2019.

There's since been five series to date.

Who took part in Celebrity Gogglebox 2022?

There were some brand new celebrity faces on series four of Celebrity Gogglebox, including First Dates star Fred Siriex and his fiancée Fruitcake.

Dame Joanna Lumley also took the place of Dame Maureen Lipman, alongside Celebrity Gogglebox legend Gyles Brandreth.

The Chase star Paul Sinha and his husband Oliver Levy also appeared on the new series.

Gok Wan and Fearne Cotton joined forces for the fourth series.

Blue singer Duncan James also joined the show alongside Gogglebox favourite Denise Van Outen, following her split from partner Eddie Boxshall.

Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her mum TV presenter Janet Ellis also joined the cast.

Usual Celebrity Gogglebox faces such as Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher, Mel C, Nick Grimshaw, Rylan Clark, Shaun Ryder, Bez, Martin Kemp, Roman Kemp, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash also returned.

Which celebs have been on Celebrity Gogglebox in the past?

DJ Clara Amfo, presenter Clare Balding, TV star Lorraine Kelly and Spice Girl Mel C all made their Gogglebox debuts last year alongside former Premier League footballers Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards and TV presenter and comedian Joel Dommett with his wife Hannah Cooper.

Other celebs to appear on the show in the past include Bez and Shaun Ryder, Iain Sterling and Laura Whitmore, Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv, Roman Kemp and his dad Martin, Zoe Ball and her son Woody, as well as Denise Van Outen, Rylan, Anne-Marie, Ed Sheeran, Tom Jones and Little Mix.

The likes of Olly Murs, Jamie and Rebekah Vardy, and Boris Johnson's dad Stanley have also featured!

Has Celebrity Gogglebox won any awards?

Not yet, but it was nominated at the BAFTA TV Awards for Reality and constructed factual, losing out to Race Across the World.
