Olly Murs has said that he is 'sad' to be leaving The Voice UK, with the upcoming twelfth series of the ITV/STV talent show set to be his last. The 39-year-old 'Dance With Me Tonight' hitmaker joined the show in 2018.

As reported by the Mail Online, Olly opened up on his exit from The Voice UK ahead of the new series. He said: "I feel so proud of this show. When I started I never imagined I would be here for six or seven years.

"I'm sad to be leaving but so happy to have been a part of the show. I'm hoping this series will be the best one yet!"

Olly also went on to tease a big twist that viewers can look out for when The Voice UK hits our screens on Saturday 4th November. He added: "A big secret is that although there's four coaches on the show, there is someone else that presses the button this year and it's not a coach!"

Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Anne-Marie will be returning as coaches for the new series. Like Olly, Anne-Marie is also reportedly set to leave The Voice UK after series 12.

The new series will also see groups audition for the show for the very first time, as hopefuls compete to win a recording contract with Universal Records, a luxury holiday and a £50k cash prize.

Host Emma Willis said: "It feels lovely to be back. We are one big family, so it's nice to get going again. Everyone is really settled as we all know what we are doing and I think everyone is ready for some nice healthy competition."

Sir Tom added: "Listening to new voices and hearing what's out there. I've been doing it for so long but I've always been interested in the way people sound, the voices. So, this is a perfect thing for me as I've always loved listening to singers."
