The compilation of clips then show Charlie messaging him as he grabs some breakfast and gets the bus to school. When he finally arrives at the classroom he can't see Nick, but Nick surprises him from behind.

Speaking about the series, executive producer Patrick Walkers said: “Continuing the story of Nick, Charlie and the rest of the Heartstopper gang for season two has been an absolute privilege. In the teaser clip, starring cast can be heard teasing what is to come in the upcoming second season. Yasmin Finney, who plays Elle, says: "There's so many things happen with Elle this season that you're not ready for.

"I would say Elle is different in the sense she's more confident. She surrounds herself with people that elevate her."

On top of that, Joe Locke, who plays Charlie, reveals: "Charlie goes on more of a journey. His story's a bit more mature."

In December 2022, Netflix and the official Heartstopper account shared a photo of the show's creator Alice Oseman, along with two of the lead actors Kit Connor (Nick) and Joe Locke (Charlie), confirming that season 2 of the show had wrapped!

Captioning their photo: 'And that's a wrap on Heartstopper Season 2… à bientôt! 🍂', the post attracted a lot of attention from fans, with one writing: 'Super excited... so can't wait for S2. 😍💖 ~ Meanwhile I keep binge watching S1 on repeat. 🥰🍂', while another wrote: 'Okay now we need release date!!! :D'.

Kit, who plays the role of bisexual teenager Nick Nelson, said that the character was an "extremely special character" to him.
