After revealing last year that Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen would be taking a back seat in Years & Years, Olly Alexander has now officially released his first solo offering - in the form of his brand new album 'Night Call'.

Olly announced his solo album last year, with the team revealing it will be released on 7th January 2022. Sadly, due to production issues, this was postponed to 21st January - aka TODAY. Fans are over the moon as they finally get to hear brand new music from the star.

Celebrating the release on Instagram, Olly wrote: '🧜🏻‍♂️ 🌖 NIGHT CALL - OUT NOW 🌊🌓 blue waves ∿ red earth ҈ purple sea ~~ now it’s your night, your call! thank you for listening x'.

Olly revealed that he began making music for the album way back in 2019, but ended up going "back to the drawing board" due to the "whole world" changing in 2020. We are sure it's worth the wait!

Announcing the album back in September, the statement released by Olly read: '🌙🧜🏻‍♂️NIGHT CALL🌒✨ - let me take you far away 🌊🎶 my new album is out on the 7th January 🌘 I’m so happy this moment has finally come! Night Call has been my escape for the past couple of years, I put all my frustration, loneliness, hope, horniness, grief and optimism into making a really fun record I could dance to, I’m so excited to put this out and share it with you all 🥺 💜'. Years & Years took to their Instagram to announce that they will now continue as an Olly Alexander solo project back in March 2021, referring to their upcoming album as an 'Olly endeavour'. The band assured fans that the three are still good friends.

Taking to their Instagram, Years & Years explained that continuing as an 'Olly solo project' will involve Mikey Goldsworthy playing at the live shows and Emre Türkmen helping with writing/producing.

In the statement released on their page, they wrote, 'Dear Y&Y fans 💕 There’s been some changes that we want to fill you in on. This upcoming new album has been an Olly endeavour and we’ve decided that Years & Years will continue as an Olly solo project. The three of us are still good friends. Mikey will be part of the Y&Y family and play with us live and Emre will focus on being a writer/producer. These past twelve months have been crazy for us all and we want to thank you for the love and support you’ve given us over the years (& years). ✨ New Y&Y music will be coming this spring. 🌟' (sic)
