He's one of the most popular teen heartthrobs around, boasting more than 10 million followers on Twitter, and Shawn Mendes says his fanbase is particularly passionate here in the UK.

'Even more so than home, I can't walk around here. I mean, i'm cool with it', he revealed to our Entertainment Hub when he popped in for a chat.

He also said that, although sometimes he doesn't always want his picture taken hundreds of times in the street, the positives massively outweigh the negatives.

'It only makes us human to not want pictures taken, but when it comes to weighing the negatives to the positives, it takes like 30 seconds to take a photo. It's literally nothing'.

'It's so easy! If people are going to come and watch a show, like 15,000 people, and all I have to do is take photos, I would do that all day!', Shawn added.

He just finished the UK and European stretch of his massive Illuminate world tour. He's about to venture out on the US leg of the tour, with fellow heartthrob Charlie Puth as his support act.

Seeing as he's spent so much time in the UK recently, we wanted to test him on all of his 'Brit' knowledge. Does he know what damp squib means? Does he know what wellies are? How does he feel about the word snog?

Shawn is about to head back to the US for the rest of his tour, but he admitted that it's going to be hard heading after being in Europe because, as he's only 18, he won't be able to go out and let loose after his gigs.

'In Europe you don't have to wind down, you can go out afterwards!'

Speaking about how he's going to unwind after shows in America, he said 'I'm going to have to figure something out. I'm watching Grey's Anatomy at the moment and there's 12 series, so i'm good'
