9 times Little Mix stole the show at The BRIT Awards

The girls made history in 2021

Author: Georgie HollandPublished 1st Feb 2022

Despite Jesy Nelson quitting the group at the end of 2020, Little Mix are still one of the biggest girl bands in the world at the minute, made up of Queens Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

The group, who are currently taking a hiatus to work on solo material, made HISTORY at The BRIT Awards in 2021, after being crowned the first ever girl band to win in the British Group category.

To celebrate their success, we've taken a trip down memory lane to see all of the times Little Mix have stole the show at The BRIT Awards, after the 2024 ceremony took place on Saturday 2nd March.

1. When the girls performed for the first time ever at The BRITs

2016 saw the pop-stars perform at The BRITs for the very first time, appearing in matching green and black outfits singing their hit single 'Black Magic'.

2. When the girls rocked the red carpet with their mums!

Walking the red carpet ahead of their first ever BRIT Awards performance, Little Mix invited their mums along for the party, oozing glamour!

3. When Little Mix shouted out to their exes

After opening the 2017 show with their hit song 'Shout Out To My Ex', the girls went on to see off tough competition and pick up the award for 'British Single' for their hit track 'Shout Out To My Ex'.

After thanking their management, friends and family, Leigh-Anne went onto add, "And also, we'd like to thank our exes!"

4. When they stole the red carpet with their amazing outfits

Heads were turned as the girls graced the red carpet in their gorgeous dresses, especially Leigh-Anne...

5. When they got a little too excited about winning their award...

After picking up the award for 'British Single' at the 2017 BRITs, the girls didn't hold back when showing us how excited they were backstage...with Jade even trying to take a bite out of the award!

6. Their adorable reaction to winning 'British Artist Video of the Year'

After asking for votes for weeks, the Little Mix girls couldn't believe their luck when they were crowned the winners of 'British Artist Video of the Year' for their hit single 'Woman Like Me'.

"We never win this!" cried Jade!

7. Their breathtaking performance to hit single 'Woman Like Me'

Featuring the talented Ms Banks, the girls took our breath away with a powerful performance of their song 'Woman Like Me'. Featuring plenty of fire, sass and neon colours, we couldn't take our eyes off them!

8. When Jade was a proud auntie on the red carpet in 2021

Just days after both Leigh-Anne and Perrie announced they were expecting babies later in the year, Little Mix walked the red carpet at The BRITs, with Lee Lee and Pez showing off their stunning bumps, whilst auntie Jade looked proud as punch.

9. When they made BRIT Award HISTORY

After the bands successful 2020, which saw Little Mix release tracks such as 'Break Up Song', 'No Time For Tears' and 'Holiday', Little Mix were rewarded at The BRIT Awards 2021 when they beat Bicep, Biffy Clyro, The 1975 and Young T & Bugsey to win the British Group award.

Little Mix made history with their win, becoming the first ever girl group to ever receive the British Group award, something the girls paid homage to in their winner's speech.

The girls said: 'It’s not easy being a female in the pop industry, we’ve seen the white male dominance, sexism and lack of diversity. The fact that this award has never been won by a girl group speaks volumes. This award is not just for us, it’s for all the incredible female groups that have come before us.

'Thank you to everyone who’s supported us over the last 10 years. Thank you to our incredible team, and everyone who worked with us on Confetti. And of course, to the key workers who continue to work for the health of the nation ✨'. (sic)
