Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe welcomes her first child with Greg Lake

Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe and her boyfriend, former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake, have welcomed their first child into the world.

The actress welcomed a baby boy on 20th June, with a rep telling OK! Online, "We are delighted to announce that our client Jennifer Metcalfe and partner Greg Lake have welcome a baby boy into the world yesterday. Mother and baby are doing fine."

Earlier in the month Jennifer shared a playful snap of her bump to Instagram, with a note from Greg which read, 'Dear Jen, you are lovely come out baby lake please'. sic

The couple first announced they were expecting a baby back in February 2017 and Jennifer, who plays Mercedes MQueen in the Channel 4 soap, has kept her fans up to date since.

Back in May Jennifer showed fans her packed overnight bag all ready to travel to the hospital. Alongside the snap of nappies, baby grows and a teddy, she wrote, 'Hospital bag packin! 👜😅 Common lil baby 👶 we are ready for u!' sic.

The new arrival is the couple's first child together, they first started dating back in 2013 and during a recent appearance on Loose Women, Jennifer told the panel how much they were looking forward to becoming parents.

Greg had a brief spell on MTV reality show Geordie Shore back in 2011, however he left the show just a year later when he admitted he felt like an 'outsider' alongside the likes of Vicky Pattison, Charlotte Crosby and Gaz Beadle.

The arrival of Jennifer's baby comes after her Hollyoaks character Mercedes has been involved in a number of tough scenes, including the emotional stillbirth of her on-screen son Gabriel.

It was reported that Jennifer broke down in tears on set and she later admitted, "Filming it, I got a lump in my throat and that was it. By the end I was just sat there sobbing."

Congratulations to the happy couple! 👶

They are yet to reveal any further details or share any photos of their new son.
