Emmerdale's Laura Norton and Mark Jordon welcome first child and reveal cute name

Lovely news to report today as real-life Emmerdale couple Laura Norton and Mark Jordon have welcomed their first child into the world, a healthy baby boy!

Confirming the adorable news with soap fans online, the couple, who play the roles of Kerry Wyatt and Daz Spencer, revealed they've welcomed a baby boy called Jesse.

Proud mum Laura wrote, 'So, on Friday Jan 29th at 1.30am we managed to bring this little champ into the world. It was the most incredible, surreal experience I have ever had and probably ever will and my tiny mind is blown. He is perfect and we’re all so happy to welcome him to the fam. Jesse Jordon we’re all head over heels IN LOVE with you 🤍 @daddyjordon you were the BEST birthing partner would absolutely not be in one piece without you and @roh_birthcentre are amazing!! All the girls but espesh Amy our midwife who is some sort of super hero 🦸‍♀️🤍👶🏽'. (sic)

Mark later shared another adorable snap to his own account, capturing the beautiful bond between his son and his fiancée Laura just moments after she'd given birth.

The actor captioned the shot with, 'So proud to announce that on Friday 29th Jan at 1.30am @laura_norts gave birth to our beautiful baby boy . Weighing 8lb 10oz , both returned home that day. Huge thank you to the wonderful midwifes @roh_birthcentre . Welcome to the world Jesse Jordon 👼🏻🌈💙'. (sic)

The couple's Emmerdale co-stars were quick to congratulate the pair on the birth of their son, with Anthony Quinlan writing, '❤️❤️❤️ congratulations guys! He’s a little beauty ❤️❤️❤️ so buzzing for you both ❤️❤️❤️'.

Amy Walsh then wrote, 'So happy for you all. He’s beautiful!!! 💙', with Lisa Riley commenting, 'You are a SUPERSTAR ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️CONGRATULATIONS to you both........we are gleaming for you all 😘😘😘😘😘'. (sic)

Danny Miller then wrote, 'Congratulations mate! So so happy for you and the new big man! @daddyjordon sending loads of Daddy love pal. All the love you two ❤️'. (sic)

Emmerdale actors Natalie J Robb (Moira Barton) and Jonny McPherson (Dr Liam Cavanagh) appeared together in Zoom call during lockdown, confirming rumours that they have been dating since the start of the year.


Natalie then appeared on Loose Women in July where she said, "Our first date was in mid-January, and then we were just having a couple of dates in February and then obviously March lockdown happened."

Mark and Laura, who got engaged on New Year's Eve in 2018, first announced they were expecting their first child back in August last year.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Laura announced she discovered she was pregnant at the beginning of June, revealing, "I took the test on 1 June. We were out on a walk and I suddenly realised I was late. Mark asked how late I was and I said about three days but I looked at my calendar and it was 14 days!"

Mark added, "It was hysterical. Laura was saying, 'No, I know my own body, everything is fine, it’s not what you think.'"

Laura then revealed, "In the lead up to taking the test, I was saying, 'I’m not pregnant. I’ll just know when I am.' I didn’t feel any different. I took the test and we looked at it together. It’s something I’ve always hoped would happen. I hope my instincts kick in. I feel very calm and safe knowing that I’ve seen what an amazing father Mark and how brilliant his kids are."
