The Football Association is looking into claims that Arsenal players were subjected to racist abuse during their Premier League match at Leeds United on Saturday (18 December).

Referee Andrew Marriner halted play in the 34th minute to consult with match officials after the incident was reported and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta confirmed after the game that some unnamed substitutes had been targeted.

Leeds United have issued a statement condeming the abuse, saying an arrest has been made in connection with the allegation and that anyone found using racist language will be banned for life from any game involving the club.
