The charity series will be split up into five episodes, with different celebrities in each. Four celebs on each episode will show off their baking skills over three rounds, the signature, the technical and the showstopper challenge.

The hugely anticipated celebrity special will also feature usual Bake Off hosts Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig, with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith returning as judges.

Last year, The Great British Bake Off moved to Channel 4 for the first time in the programme's history, with Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig, and new judge Prue Leith. The series was won by track cyclist, Sophie Faldo, who impressed the judges with her Spelt Boules, Mushroom Ciabatta and Orange Plaited Brioche.

Sophie's victory was slightly overshadowed when Prue Leith announced the winner of the show hours before it aired on TV.

Clearly excited about the episode, Prue got a little bit ahead of herself and tweeted the words, 'No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo Sophie'.

After realising her mistake, Prue's tweet was swiftly deleted, and she later explained the gaffe happened because she was on a different time zone during a holiday to Bhutan.

In other Bake Off news, it has been confirmed that former contestant Liam Charles will host the spin-off show Bake Off: The Professionals.

The news was announced on social media by the former Bake Off contestant who said,

'Errrrrr.....How can I say this.....Bake Off professionals init!! 😜🍰 Ayy @tomallencomedy let’s get cracking bro!! @cherish_finden x @BenoitBlin_MCA.' sic

Liam will host the show alongside comedian Tom Allen.

Although no official air date has been confirmed, reports are suggesting The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off will air on Channel 4 in March.
