A Uni of Cumbria graduate is telling us how the skills learnt whilst studying helped her fight for her husband, whilst he was being held by the Taliban.

Kelly Cornwall was studying mental health nursing, when her husband Kevin, a humanitarian aid worker, was taken captive by the Taliban in January 2023 whilst working in Afghanistan.

She decided to continue the course - before he was eventually released in October.

Kelly's now part of the '100 faces' campaign - celebrating those who were the first in their family to go to University
