The One Direction pair will appear on a very special edition of the programme for Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer on Friday 26th October. Taking to Instagram to announce the news, 'Strip That Down' singer Liam shared a snap of the pair on the sofa, writing, 'Tune into @channel4 on Friday night from 7pm to watch me and @louist91 on #gogglebox for #StandUpToCancer. It’s for a cause that’s close to our hearts, so please give it a watch and donate ❤️'. sic

Clearly delighted at the news, fans of the pair were quick to express their excitement, with the snap getting over one million likes in just a few hours. One user wrote, 'I am so happy!', with another adding, 'I LOVE YOU GUYS'.

One Direction formed on The X Factor in 2010. All five members auditioned as individual contestants and were put together as a group by Simon Cowell.

The programme, which has become a popular edition to Stand Up To Cancer in recent years, is certainly something close to Louis' heart. The X Factor judge tragically lost his mum Johannah Deakin to Leukemia in 2016, with her leaving behind seven children at the age of just 42.

Meanwhile, as well as Liam and Louis, the celebrity edition of Gogglebox will also star EastEnders actor Danny Dyer and his daughter, Love Island 2018 winner Dani Dyer. England and Tottenham footballers Dele Alli and Eric Dier will also appear on the show, with married couple Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy also taking a seat in front of their TV.

Celebrity Gogglebox will air on Channel 4 during Stand Up To Cancer from 7pm on Friday 26th October. The show will also feature a number of other popular shows, including a very special Carpool Karaoke with James Corden and Michael Bublé.

Since it was first set up in 2012, Stand Up To Cancer has raised more than £38m.
