Viewers frustrated as E4 airs WRONG episode of MAFS UK 😲

Following THAT cliffhanger ending involving Adam and Tayah on Wednesday night's episode, it's no surprise Married At First Sight UK viewers were very excited for the final instalment of the series last night (Thursday 30th September).

However, as fans of the hit show sat down in front of their TV sets ready for the drama, it didn't take long for them to get a sense of déjà vu, quickly realising they were watching a previously shown episode.

Quickly noticing the issue themselves, E4 jumped on social media to say: 'We’re aware it’s yesterday’s episode of #MAFSUK playing out this evening and apologise. It’s all down to our ongoing tech issues which we’re working hard on. We’ll update here as soon as we know more and when you’ll be able to see the final episode of MAFS UK.'

After airing an old episode of Celebrity First Dates instead, E4 bosses later updated viewers, saying: 'To confirm, #MAFSUK and Afters won’t be playing tonight. We’re sorry again – we’re working to make it available on All 4 and E4 as soon as possible and we’ll update as soon as we know more.' (sic)

A number of channels have been experiencing some major technical issues this week, following a fire alarm at a London broadcast centre last Saturday (25th September).

Channel 4 and More 4 were temporarily off air on Saturday, with the broadcaster experiencing sound and technical issues for the majority of the week so far.

Following their disappointment of not being able to view episode 20, many MAFS UK fans expressed their frustration online.

One wrote: 'All these adverts won’t mask the disappointment to be honest..', with another writing: 'I’ve been having problems with E4 & E4 + 1 the last few days, playing random unadvertised programmes & freezing, but it’s particularly p----d me off tonight when I was looking forward to this specific episode'.

Another added: 'And you couldn't announce it before the show started tonight to save me wasting 10 minutes of my life watching what I thought was a really long recap?!'. (sic)

E4 bosses have now confirmed episode 20 will air at 9pm on Friday 1st October, with MAFS Afters airing immediately after at 10pm.

Episode 21 (a review episode) is due to air on Monday 4th October at 9pm, immediately after the brand new series of MAFS Australia.
