It's been three years since Cheryl Tweedy last graced the music charts with her catchy pop hits such as 'Fight For This Love', 'Call My Name' and 'Promise This'. So it's no surprise fans of the singer went into meltdown last week when it was reported the new mum is working with top producer Naughty Boy.

Cheryl, who welcomed her first child back in March 2017, is working alongside Naughty Boy and 2017 winners of The X Factor Rak-Su. Last week, Naughty Boy posted a snap of the group to his socials, with the caption, ' SQUAD @raksuraksu @cheryl official #fblock #naughty #music #watchthisspace'. sic

Now the producer, who has worked with the likes of Sam Smith and Beyoncé in the past, has given an update to fans about his track with Cheryl.

Although no name or official release date for the single has been announced, fans of Cheryl can't wait to hear new music from her.

Naughty Boy also revealed his love for Cheryl and told Lorraine he believes she's in a 'good place'.

He said, "She's a lovely girl. We worked together before, but it was with will.i.am and I didn't actually meet her then. We've written a great song for her album and we're finishing it later today actually.

"I feel she's her own entity. Think of the success she's had. I feel she's in a good place and people are waiting to hear what Cheryl's going to do next."

Cheryl last released solo music in 2015, however her biggest hit was 'I Don't Care' in 2014. Her last album 'Only Human' was also released in 2014, so fans have had to wait a long time for new music from the former Girls Aloud singer.

It is set to be a busy year for the 34-year-old. After taking almost a year off from the showbiz world to spend time with her son Bear, Cheryl is also set to make her return to The X Factor judging panel.

Speaking to Metro, Dermot O'Leary said, "Cheryl’s going to come back.

"If it wasn’t Cheryl, I would love Mariah. It would be a whole new world of crazy my friend."

Rumours of Cheryl's return to the singing show have been rife for a number of years since she last appeared as a main judge back in 2014.

The singer was a hugely popular judge on the show and she enjoyed a successful stint, having won the show with Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry.

Cheryl left in 2010 and returned for one more year in 2014. The singer then made her return to TV when she joined Simon Cowell in the Judges' Houses stage of the show in France last year.

Could she perform her new single on the show? We can't wait to hear her new music!
