Love Island’s Dr Alex reveals he’s RETURNING to his old job

Cast your mind back a few months, when the weather was gorgeous and we had a daily 9pm date with Love Island. One of this year's stars was Dr Alex George, the shy doctor never got a girlfriend - always finding himself in the friend-zone, however, the show did propel him into the limelight. Now, after a few months of fame he's decide to RETURN to the NHS.

Dr Alex took to social media to confirm his intentions, telling his fans on Instagram in a statement, 'Love Island was the experience of a lifetime, but ever since I left the villa I've genuinely missed working for the NHS. That's why this week, I'm going back to A&E. I trained for years for the opportunity to help people, and I can't wait to get back to doing what I love.'

He then captioned his statement, 'I'll be using my platform to raise awareness around health issues among young people. Hopefully I'll be able to give you a bit of insight into what it's like on the front lines of the NHS. I hope you all continue this incredible journey with me. Here we go!'

After hearing his decision to return to his old job, fans of the doctor left numerous comments saying, '😷 yaaasss your nhs family are glad to have u back. Ahhooii hoooi', 'Do what makes you happy ! 💯💯' and 'Good luck xx'. sic

Since leaving Love Island, Dr Alex has made a number of public appearances including standing in for Good Morning Britain's Dr Hilary Jones while he took a break for his holiday. Talking about his exciting role on Good Morning Britain, Dr Alex also hinted that he would be returning to his old job at some point saying, 'I’m passionate about the job. Of course I’m going to be going back to the NHS, but in the meantime, I really hope that I can use the platform that I have to talk about things that are topical and affect people in everyday life. "
