Winning £25,000 has completely changed Bangor mother's life forever
Laura was an emotional wreck on Friday 😭🎉
Last week we gave away almost £90,000 and had listeners from all over Northern Ireland win the Cool FM Downtown Cash Call.
Tuesday saw Éadaoin from Derry/Londonderry walk away with £22,222.22, Heather from Ballymena picked up £20,000, Tom got the call in Cookstown on Thursday winning £22,500 and then Laura from Bangor on Friday received £25,000!
To say Laura wasn't expecting a call from John Kearns was an understatement.
"I was sitting waiting on my little boy to come home from his gran's, and was catching up on Masterchef when the call came in," Laura describes.
"Cash Call wasn't even going through my head, I was just wondering who would be calling from an unknown number. When I heard John's voice I was thought my friend was winding me up as I'd been joking for so long that today's the day."
"I hadn't written the number down as it was such a massive round number there was no way I was forgetting that!"
"This win means more than words can express. I've had a really rough year and this has now taken a lot of pressure off my shoulders. I feel so unbelievably lucky to have won, this will change not just my life but my sons too."
First things first, we're dying to know what Laura will spend her winnings on.
"The only thing I'm planning on spending it on at the minute is a wee haul from Boohoo & more than likely a haul from Smyths for the wee man. When things go back to normal I'd like to treat my parents to a holiday and I'd love to take my close group of gal pals to a wee spa trip with cocktails of course!"
