Downtown Country's Stuart Banford certainly has been busy! In between his afternoon radio show and daily interviews with some of the biggest names in country music, he's winning multiple awards!

Just last week Stuart won the bronze award for Specialist Music Broadcaster at the 2021 IMRO Awards.

And just last night, he picked up the silver trophy at the NYF Radio Awards for Best Country Format.

The NYF Radio Awards receives entries from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from over 30 countries around the globe, so this is quite the achievement. The awards honour the achievements of those who make up the global audio storytelling community.

This is a well deserved award for Stuart, recognising the passion he has for country music and the great job he's been doing behind the scenes.

Rose Anderson, VP/Executive Director, New York Festivals Radio Awards commented:

"Once again, this year’s Finalists in addition to appealing to their own listeners, also impressed the Grand Jury with their mastery of the audio medium.

"Across all genres, they proved that radio – the original social medium – is robust and thriving. From podcasts and audiobooks to sound art and breaking news, these talented storytellers bring the world together and engage in real time."

Looking back on his career in radio, Stuart said: "I want to say a massive thank you to John Paul Ballentine who gave me my first break in commercial radio. Getting the opportunity to chat to some of my musical heroes has been a dream of mine, I’m just glad so many others love what we do each day.”

CONGRATULATIONS STUART! 👏
