Luck was definitely on Ciara's side yesterday as she picked up the Cool FM Downtown Cash Call, winning £12,222.22 - talk about a happy St Patrick's Day!
"It’s funny, as it was St. Patrick’s Day and we were stuck in lockdown, we decided to pop open some bubbly. I had just poured myself a glass when I looked down and spotted the words 'No Caller ID.' I fully expected it to be a scammer telling me I’m entitled to PPI or something, so when I heard John's voice I fell off my seat. I mean you can hear my reaction at the start I couldn’t believe a word I was hearing!"
Ciara has been entering the cash call competition for over a year now, so to actually win yesterday huge.
"All jokes aside my first thought seriously was that I was going to boke. I’ve practiced in my head a million times what I would say if I was ever called but the second I heard 'Hi, this is John Kearns from Cool FM', all my one liners and cool reactions went right down the drain. It was the most unbelievable moment in my whole life."
Frantically running through the kitchen to find yesterday's lucky number Ciara got it in one! "I mean this money is literally life changing, as cliché as it sounds it really means the whole world to me, especially to win it on St Patrick’s day! It was a real life pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, what are the chances of that?"
Ciara has chosen to put her winnings towards a house deposit and will treat her family to something special post-lockdown.
