William Dunlop memorial statue to be unveiled in Ballymoney this weekend

A statue in memory of road racing star William Dunlop is due to be unveiled on Friday (February 25th).

William was part of the Dunlop family racing dynasty, he claimed 108 National Road Race wins during his career.

He died following an incident during a practice sessions at the Skerries 100 in Dublin in 2018.

The 32-year-old was the nephew of motorcycling legend Joey and son of Robert, both of whom also died following crashes during a race.

The statue will stand in the Joey and Robert Dunlop Memorial Gardens in Ballymoney.

William's partner Janine Brolly and the Dunlop family, alongside the Working Group under the Chairmanship of Ian Paisley MP and other benefactors have made this possible.

The Mayor and Ian Paisley MP will speak at the event before the new statue is unveiled.
