World famous singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran chatted to Pete Snodden on Cool FM's Breakfast show this morning.

Fresh from picking up a Q Award and injuring his wrist in a bicycle accident, 'the Castle on the Hill' star revealed he is a huge fan of County Down seaside town Bangor;

"Bangor is the home of the best guitar in the world Lowden. That's the home of it. Plus do you not know the Foy Vance song?"

In the interview with Pete he talked about coming to play Belfast's Boucher Road playing fields in May and new single 'Perfect'.

The hit maker chatted Twitter trolls and opened up about his experience as a cameo actor on Game of Thrones season 7 premiere.

"If you are someone that lots of people have an opinion on there's no point in going on Twitter."

In the interview Ed also talks about what his first dance wedding song would be.

Ed's latest album, Divide, sold 232,000 more copies in its first day than any other album in 2016. The 26-year-old is estimated to be worth £37 million - not bad! Adele is the only artist to have sold more records than him in the last 10 years.

Sheeran last played Belfast in 2014 - two sold out shows at the Odyssey.

Speaking on John Kearns' Drive earlier in the year, Ed promised "there will definitely be live shows in Belfast in 2017."

He had a special message for his fans: "Thank you to everyone listening in Northern Ireland it's such a beautiful country."

He revealed the reason behind his love for here:

"Do you know my Dad's Dad was from Belfast? So there is a bit of that in me."

As well as our many bars in Belfast, he said he's a big fan of the local whiskey:

"There's also a hell of a lot of Bushmills in me as well."

Not only a cracking artist, the Yorkshire man is generous with his profits. He promised fans if they ever bumped into him in Belfast; "all drinks are on me."
