Belfast foodies are in for a treat this festive period, as a wide selection of new restaurants, bars and cafes open across the city.

We've whittled down our pick of the best new cocktail dens and late-night party spots that have been popping up.

There are plenty of places to over-indulge.

6. Tribal Burger - Botanic Avenue

Tribal Burger / Adam Kyle

Fresh handmade burgers, hand cut chips, wings & alcoholic and non alcoholic milkshakes. This brand new eatery is nestled in the heartland of Belfast's thriving Queen's Quarter on Botanic Avenue and is about fun dining not fine dining. Popular spot with mature students.

5. Ireland's Tallest Bar - Grand Central Hotel Observatory

Belfast's newest hotel, The Grand Central, is sure to be our favourite new cocktail haunt. At 260 feet, it’s the tallest commercial structure on the island of Ireland.

Grand Central is the latest addition to the Hastings Hotels with stunning views of City Hall, Samson and Goliath and beyond.

4. Babel - Bullitt Hotel

Belfast's newest vibrant rooftop bar and garden. Babel is situated at Bullitt Hotel and offers panoramic city views across the city, mouth-watering cocktails and small plates.

Head to the inside bar for drinks, DJs and sharing platters or venture outside for live music, BBQs and cocktails in the summer.

3. The Tipsy Bird - Ann Street

Quirky style bar in Belfast, which hosts live music seven nights a week. Opened last summer and has proven popular. The decor is eye-catching to say the least. The drink selection is good, from gins to beers and cocktails.

2. The Thirsty Goat - Cathedral Quarter

This pub restaurant has been revamped by 21 Social and is now called The Thirsty Goat.

Belfast's latest Cathedral Quarter experience, boasts great craic, very tempting menus and home to one of the best beer gardens in the city centre.

1. House - Botanic Avenue

House Belfast

The latest addition to Belfast's hotel, bar and restaurant sector. The former Madison's Hotel has reopened its doors under the name House Belfast. Features stunning decor and great atmosphere with an impressive cocktail and wine list. Good news for caffeine lovers, if you plan to stay the night, rooms feature a Nespresso coffee machine.
