Jack Whitehall pays tribute to Caroline Flack at The BRIT Awards

Following the tragic news that Love Island host and TV personality Caroline Flack sadly passed away on Saturday 15th February, The BRIT Awards have paid a poignant tribute to her at tonight's (Tuesday 18th February) ceremony.

Host Jack Whitehall said, "A member of The Brits family Caroline Flack tragically passed away. She was a kind and vibrant person with an infectious sense of fun. She will be sorely missed. I’m sure I speak for everyone her when I say our thoughts are with her friends and family.”

Caroline, who had a number of high profile celebrity friends, including the likes of Laura Whitmore, Iain Stirling and Olly Murs, sadly passed away at her London flat on Saturday 15th February, with her family confirming the devastating news in a statement.

It read, "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."

ITV bosses cancelled Saturday and Sunday night's episodes of Love Island out of respect to Caroline and her family, and went on to pay a lovely tribute to the former host at the beginning of Monday night's episode.

Urging people to be kinder, voice over and good friend Iain Stirling said, "We are absolutely devastated by the tragic news that Caroline, a much-loved member of our Love Island family, has passed away.

"Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this dreadful time."

He added, "Caroline and me were together from the very start of Love Island and her passion, warmth and infectious enthusiasm were a crucial part of what made the show connect with millions of viewers."

"Caroline, I want to thank you for all the fun times we had making our favourite show. You were a true friend to me. I'm going to miss you, Caz."

Since the awful news broke on Saturday evening, a number of celebrities and former Love Island stars ave also paid tribute to the 40-year-old, including Cheryl, Amber Davies, Curtis Pritchard, Molly-Mae Hague, Dermot O'Leary and many more.
