If we learned anything last summer, it’s that we have a host of fantastic getaway opportunities here at home.

A staycation in Northern Ireland is a great way to support local businesses, and to explore the hidden gems on our doorstep.

There’s something for everyone to enjoy, whether you love rambling in the mountains, or a refreshing walk beside the sea, Northern Ireland has it all.

We’ve put together an exciting list of quirky places that we know you and your family will love:

Killyhevlin Lakeside Lodges, Enniskillen

Settled on the picturesque banks of Lough Erne, the award-winning Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel now offers self-catering lodges this summer. Get even closer to the water, as each log-panelled lodge has two en—suite bedrooms, a modern kitchen, private outdoor dining and a personal jetty. There are even pet-friendly lodges, so your four-legged friends can take part in the summer fun too.

The Pods at Streamvale, Belfast

The beauty of Streamvale Farm is how close it is to the city, you don't have to travel too far for some much-needed R&R. Everything you'll ever need is available, from yummy breakfast hampers to BBQ packs, they even have handy s'more kits on stand-by so you toast marshmallows over the fire pit. You can spend the day exploring the farm or just chill out in the hot tub, it's the city break you didn't know you needed!

Larchfield Estate, Lisburn

Known by the staff as Myrtle, this stunning 1952 Saurer Swiss Army truck has been beautifully adapted with modern touches, but still oozes rustic charm. Complete with a wood burning stove, under bed heating, sauna and fire pit, you'll never want to leave this cosy spot.

Birch Eco Cottage, Banbridge

Birch Eco Cottage sits at the centre of Lackan Cottage Farm, a rural six-acre organic small holding in the countryside. Wake up to a view of the beautiful birch woods outside your window and enjoy the peace and quiet. The birdsong, clean air and spectacular views are superb. Enjoy a peaceful walk in the woods, meet the farm's horses and hens, and tuck into local produce fresh from the garden.

Further Space, Glenarm Castle Antrim

The hilltop Glenarm glamping site overlooks the castle's estate and ocean – what more could you ask for? Each pod sleeps 4 (2 adults and 2 children) complete with en-suite shower room, private fire pit and mini fridge. You can even order a campfire and BBQ pack too. There's plenty to do at Glenarm Castle as well, from strolling around the walled garden, to visiting Granny Shaw's Fudge Factory, you won't get bored here.

They over a wide range of fabulous accommodation packages from their signature Guest House, to their unique Bubble Domes where you can sleep under the stars. Sperrinview Luxury Glamping, Cookstown

You'll never forget your Sperrinview experience – this unique glamping sire sits at the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains. They're placed specifically to Northern Ireland's dark sky sites, so they offer excellent views of the sky, free of light pollution. Each pod features a 'viewing window' so you can lie in bed and gaze up at the stars.

Brent Cove, Newtownards

Sheltered under an overhanging tree, this quirky purpose-built studio offers panoramic views of Strangford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. However, when you step inside, the sleek modern interiors offer more than meets the eye.

Quarry Hill Church, Strangford

Imagine sleeping in an abandoned church! This beautifully presented renovation can sleep up to 10 adults, with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, so there shouldn't be any arguing.
