Locals have been going crazy documenting their favourite bars, restaurants, brunch locations, and even favourite date-night spots.
We’ve all gotten used to the trendy new food trucks and pop-up shops appearing across the country, but now that indoor hospitality is back, where else can we eat?
So many fantastic brands and businesses have reopened their doors again and have since gone viral!
Here’s a list of some of the quirkiest TikTok food spots across NI:
Waka Asian Fusion, Belfast
Belfast officially has a drive thru Chinese restaurant, you've read that correctly! No need to get out of your sweats and loungewear, simply jump in the car and head to Waka on the Boucher Road in Belfast. Popular dishes include the Salt 'n' Chilli Chicken and Beef Satay.
The Juice Jar, Belfast
Located beside Belfast City Hall and with a new spot in Botanic, The Juice Jar is a hybrid café selling everything from fresh smoothie bowls, to shakes and sandwiches. Their menu is deliciously fresh and healthy too!
HeyBoba, Belfast
Bubble tea is a sweet treat that went global thanks to TikTok! But what actually is it? It's best described as a sweet drink with milk, flavoured tea and tapioca pearls that are sucked up through an extra-large straw and chewed. This might not be for everyone, but it's worth giving it a go.
Boojum, Belfast
A staple for any Belfast student! You just can't go wrong with a burrito from Boojum - no matter your filling of choice. With four restaurants spread out across the capital city, you can't miss them.
The Toast Office, Cathedral Quarter
It's fair to say that Northern Ireland has gone completely mad for these cheese toasties...just look at them! With a new location just around the corner from Hill Street Hatch in Belfast's cobbled Cathedral Quarter, this is the ultimate foodie experience.
A Nice Sip, Botanic
Now these odd shaped snacks are known to the Gen-Z population as Little-Moons. Another bubble tea store on the Stranmillis Road (A Nice Sip) has some of the most incredible pastries and sweet treats, including these Japanese-inspired desserts. They're mini ice cream balls wrapped in a thin layer of rice flour dough called Mochi.
Cookie Box, Belfast
If you've got a sweet tooth and don't count calories, this place is a must-try for you. They serve a huge range of milkshakes and smoothies, cookies and even fresh COOKIE DOUGH now too.
Bagel Bean
OMG! You haven't lived until you've tried a Bagel Bean bagel. Seriously, they are insane. They're packed to the sesame brim with flavour and yumminess. The BC Classic Melt is their signature dish, but their Breakfast Special is also worth checking out.
Sherpa Ice Cream, Newtownards
This is definitely one of the coolest food trends to hit Northern Ireland...rolled ice cream. Made fresh to order, you can add whatever flavours and toppings you wish, and watch as the team bring your rolled ice cream to life. Kids will love this place!
Black Box Donuts, Belfast
With two perfect locations (Newcastle Co. Down and Belfast's Lisburn Road) their Willy Wonka inspired combinations leave you drooling on their glass counter. They've got everything from donuts to donnolis and macarons to conuts.
Tribal Burger, Belfast
If you're craving something more substantial, why not visit Tribal Burger in Belfast city centre and Botanic Avenue. Just look at those layers 🤤
BaoBun, Belfast
BaoBun is an exciting Taiwanese street food restaurant in Belfast. Loaded with fresh vegetables, incredible spices and delicious toppings this spot is unbelievable. They also offer one of the most exciting vegan menus in the city too.
Manders Catering, Kells
Now this isn't something you see all the time...a food carnival in the heart of Kells. This place has everything, from giant Yorkshire pudding wraps, to curly fries and nachos! They've even got retro sweets and ice cream sundaes too.
Chocoa, Ballymena
The best way to describe this idyllic venue is 'high-end-on-the-high-street.' Their enticing menu filled with heavenly flavours is worth the trip, but as you step through the door you'll be wowed by the fabulous décor also. I mean come on...we'll take six of the pancakes please!
