Love Island fans go wild as Kady McDermott RETURNS to the villa after seven years

It has been confirmed that Love Island series two contestant Kady McDermott is returning to the villa - seven years after she first appeared on the show. The 27-year-old finished in third place in 2016 alongside ex-boyfriend Scott Thomas, whilst Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde were crowned winners.

Now, Kady is coming back to the iconic villa as a bombshell and is looking for love, with her sights set on getting to know Zach, Tyrique and Mitchel. Love Island fans are over the moon as last night's (22nd June) episode showed Kady strolling into the villa.

Asked why she is returning to Love Island, Kady said: "Not many people can say they’ve been on Love Island, let alone have done it twice!

"I think I’m known from season two for being so chaotic. People always ask, ‘Do you have regrets?’ expecting me to say yes, but I was so true to myself and I was 100% authentic. I’ll still be like that now, but seven years on, I am more mature. I’m still the fiery pocket rocket but I know what I want and what I don’t want.

"Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to be me and the fire I have is in my soul, I’ll never get rid of that and I love that about me, but I’m a lot more emotionally mature now, so I know how to navigate things better. I’ve grown up a lot.

"Last time I got with Scott straight away and I was so ‘tunnel vision’. It’ll be interesting to see what connections I’ll form this time."

After Kady's return was confirmed at the end of Thursday's (22nd June) episode, fans took to Twitter to share their excitement. One viewer said: 'KADY IS BACK WHAT.' (sic)

Someone else wrote: 'Kady from season 2, the blueprint of all bombshells is back.' Another person said: 'SO HYPED THAT KADY IS BACK SHE NEEDS TO WIN THE SEASON SHE WAS ROBBED LAST TIME.' (sic)

A TV source told MailOnline: "Kady was a fantastic Islander in 2016. She made brilliant television and bosses are hoping she can recreate the same magic in the villa this summer.

"She's also still looking for love so for Kady the hope is that she can finally find the man of her dreams.

"Olivia and Alex and Nathan and Cara from her series are happy, in love, and even have families of their own. Kady, especially now she's older and wiser when it comes to dating, is longing for the same fairytale ending."

Kady isn't the first Islander to make a comeback to the hit ITV2 dating show. Last year, Adam Collard famously made a return to the villa after his first stint on the show in 2018. Meanwhile, Jessie Wynter had previously starred on the Australian Love Island before appearing in this year's Winter series.

After starring on Love Island in 2016, Kady dated fellow 2016 Islander Scott Thomas, with the pair sharing a home together in Manchester until they parted ways in 2017. Kady has also dated Aston Villa footballer Matty Cash and former TOWIE star Myles Barnett.

The 2016 series of Love Island was won by Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde, who married in 2019. The pair have also welcomed two children - five-year-old Freddie and three-year-old Delilah.

Series two runners-up Alex and Olivia Bowen married in 2018 and became parents to their son Abel in 2022.
