Glasgow is a pooch paradise, with over 90 incredible parks and gardens to play in. With so many green places to choose from, there's no reason to get bored of the same old walks! We've put together a list of the best dog walks in Glasgow, from local spots to further afield.
Some dogs love to run around wide green spaces, while others prefer to dart in and out of the woods. Many love to jump in water, so a jaunt along the beach is doggy heaven!

Gleniffer Braes
Glennifer Braes is the dog walk for people who like a more rugged, hilly terrain. It is a messy muddy one, but dogs and their owners love the wild hills, and it is perfect for a dog who can get over-excited in public parks.
It is both isolated yet popular, many runners and cyclists choose this spot. If you do climb the Braes, you will be rewarded with an incredible view.
Rouken Glen
One of the largest parks in Glasgow, Rouken Glen offers a vast area for you and your dog to enjoy on your walk. In East Renfrewshire, it is a combination of flat pathways set amongst groomed open spaces and woodland area, rugged fields and even a waterfall.
It is one of those places which gives you plenty of variety, so that along with its size makes it ideal for a longer walk.
Pollok Country Park
Pollok Country Park is the only country park within Glasgow and the city's largest park. An expansive rural space, it also offers delights such as Highland cattle, an orienteering course and wildlife garden.
It's size makes it a dog haven, and there are many different parts to the park, so those four-legged friends who are a bit more shy, can enjoy one of the quieter areas.
Lunderston Bay
Lunderston Bay is the nearest coastal area to the city of Glasgow. It is a perfect walk for a pooch who likes to go for a dip and their two-legged friends who love a good view. The coastal walks are relaxing and offer great views of the Cowal Peninsula.
Luss Beach, Loch Lomond
If your best friend is a big beach fan then Luss will be a sure fire hit. Located on Loch Lomond, Luss Beach is one of the most popular recreational spots for families, couples and dogs!
It's a beautiful walk that provides plenty of play for your pet. The beach is a good long stretch and is the perfect place for a fun dog walk with scenic views.
Mugdock Park
Mugdock has it all and is a real hit with pets and people alike. Located to the North West of Glasgow, this gem is great for woodland walks.
There are sections of flat pathways carved between the more rugged terrain. Your best friend can run for miles off lead, head uphill or down, jump in the pond (much to the duck's delight!) or simply just walk and enjoy. For dog walkers it is a real hit too, with so many things to see and do, from beautiful gardens, a great café, garden centre, and even the ruins of Mugdock Castle.
Kelvingrove Park
A real Glasgow icon Kelvingrove Park on the River Kelvin is both relaxing and buzzing. Walkers can enjoy meandering slowly through the gardens, or the buzz of the skate park.
The sheer expanse of the park makes it a great place for city dogs to stretch those pooch paws, and with so much to see and do, it is a lovely walk for people too.
Colzium House, part of Colzium Estate
Colzium Estate is our wildcard and our thus-far local secret. The area is comprised of lovely woodland area for dogs to scamper around in and get some fresh air.
For the two-legged walkers, it offers a lovely historic walk with castle ruins, historical buildings and a walled garden. However our secret informants tell us it is just a great 'feel-good' place to walk your pooch friend.
Glasgow Green
Glasgow Green is the most central of the destinations on this list, being just east of the city centre. It is the oldest park in Glasgow, and a real Glasgow icon enduring the ages. It is the home of the red sandstone People's Palace, a museum devoted to the 'ordinary' man.
A walk around Glasgow Green treats you to lovely gardens, a cast iron fountain, and much more. Dogs love the vast open space, and walkers enjoy the character of the place.
