Pop star Ariana Grande and her fiancé of four months, Saturday Night Live comedian, Pete Davidson, have reportedly split. The news comes as a source close to the pair reportedly told entertainment website TMZ that the couple have acknowledged, "that it simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off"

They went on to reveal that, "the two aren’t ruling out the possibility of anything in the future."

This news comes as Ariana Grande and Pete were noticeably missing from this year's Emmys last month, where Pete was part of the winning Saturday Night Live team. At the time, a rep for Ariana explained that the singer was taking time to heal following the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller just 10 days before.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson first confirmed their engagement back in June, this year, after dating for a few weeks. The singer then confirmed they had moved in together in a very unusual way. Taking to her Instagram Story, the 'No Tears Left To Cry' singer posted an image of cartoon character Spongebob Square Pants sitting in a room with no furniture.

Above the recognisable yellow character were the words, 'Us in our new apartment with no furniture 1 speaker and red vines.’

During their relationship Ariana and Pete had shown a lot of affection on social media, including Pete getting some tattoos as a tribute to his fiancée, and Ariana posting several tweets about her relationship with Pete.

Back in August she even revealed that the wedding plans were well on the way. In an interview with Good Morning America, Ariana revealed how she knew she wanted to marry Pete, admitting, "People are always like, ‘When you know, you know,’ and you’re like, 'Oh, yeah, whatever. OK'.

"But you just feel it. He ticks every box and gets better every day. I’m very grateful for him. Life is beautiful. I’m enjoying every minute because life’s too short."

She added that they were thinking of tying the knot in 2019, saying, "We’ve been planning and my friends and I, my mum and everybody, have been brainstorming and sharing ideas and stuff. And it’s really fun."
